Replacing a good chunk of your teeth is a huge turning point in your life. You need all the information possible in order to make a choice you’ll be happy with. And that’s all Dr. Aram Cazazian and the team here want for you.

With that in mind, let’s look at a few of the differences between dentures and implants.

Dentures
Dentures sometimes get a bad rap, especially if you’ve ever seen an elderly relative take theirs out for the night. Dentures are a recreation of your original gums and teeth, made to look as natural as possible. They’re all custom-fit, as they’d have to be.

Dentures fit over the bare gums where your teeth used to be, and as such, they require daily cleaning and maintenance. For people missing a lot of teeth, they’re a great option.

Implants
Dental implants are pretty different from dentures, but they serve the same purpose. Instead of using an appliance you insert in your mouth, implants are left permanently in your mouth. A titanium post is inserted into your gums where your teeth were. After that, a crown is placed on top of the post and cemented into place. This process is so seamless that only a dentist can tell an implant from a real tooth.
